Conference participants are responsible for arranging their own meals and accommodations, except for the optional Friday night banquet (see registration form for information on the banquet). The CEREC conference is being held in the Home Economics Building at the Tri-County fairgrounds in Bishop, California. The fairgounds are located on Sierra Street two blocks west of Main Street (near bubble A "fairgrounds" on map), and the meeting location is in the first building on the left after you enter the main gate. This location is within walking distance of downtown Bishop. The Bishop Area Chamber of Commerce web site has information on the many choices for meals and lodging. Note that the Thursday night public lecture will be held at the United Methodist Center adjacent to Bishop High School two blocks west of downtown Bishop. See local map and list of restaurants for more information.
Note that public transportation to and from the Bishop area is, unfortunately, extremely limited. Most people travel by automobile. Details on public and other regional travel information may be found on the WMRS travel web site. Inexpensive housing may be available at the Sierra Nevada Aquatic Research Laboratory (see web site for details). Also note that dorm-style bunk space may be available at the White Mountain Research Station, call 760-873-4344 or see the WMRS web site for details.
